WILDEN AODD Pump Stalls: Air Kit or Air Valve Assembly?

If a WILDEN air-operated double-diaphragm pump stops cycling, check the compressed-air supply and exhaust before ordering a valve. A stall alone does not prove an air-valve failure. Isolate the air and fluid sides and follow the exact pump manual before disassembly.

Check the system before opening the valve

Measure available air pressure and flow at the pump under load, not only at the compressor. Inspect the regulator, filter, hose, fittings and exhaust muffler for leaks, restriction, water or icing. Also check the discharge path and process side. Record whether the stall is constant or occurs only after running.

What does the Air Kit include?

Air KitWILDEN's current Air Kit normally includes air-side service parts such as the spool, while excluding the complete air valve assembly and muffler plate.
T-Series Air KitThe manufacturer identifies a T-Series exception: its Air Kit provides a complete air valve assembly.

Confirm the bill of materials for the exact air distribution system, pump series and revision before purchase.

Inspection and ordering sequence

  1. Isolate compressed air, relieve fluid pressure and contain the liquid. Use the model-specific maintenance procedure.
  2. Record the full pump code, air distribution system option, nameplate, existing part number and clear photos.
  3. Inspect the spool, pilot parts, seals, gasket, valve body and end cap as directed. Replace only compatible parts and reassemble in the specified order.

RFQ checklist

  • Send the pump series and size, complete configuration code, air-valve material, current part number, operating air conditions, symptoms and quantity.
  • Ask DFIN to confirm kit contents and assembly compatibility.

Price depends on the exact part, material, quantity and delivery requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Can I order an Air Kit by pump size alone?

No. The air distribution system, series, configuration and revision also matter.

Does liquid at the air exhaust mean I need a new air valve?

No. Stop the pump and inspect the diaphragm and related seals according to the manual; fluid in the exhaust can indicate a different failure.
